Default Barker Electric Jack

My shoulders aren't in the best of shape, so I have been looking at the posts on electric tongue jacks, and decided to see if I could find one at a good price. For the past few months, I watched Ebay looking for one. Last week, I was able to purchase (won the bid) on a brand spanking new Barker 3500. I received it today, and installed it in less than a half hour, will need to extend the wiring a little, but was still able to try it out. All I have to say is, "Wow, too cool." Shoulders are not complaining now!

Best $150 I spent, (including shipping).

I highly recommend!!

John

Default Stabilizer Jacks

You state that you now have a cordless drill to use while cranking up/down your stabilizer jacks....what a great idea! My question is I have a North Trail 21 FBS and how do I Modify the hand crank to fit in a cordless drill?

Thanks,

Billy

You will need a 3/4 inch adapter that fits into the drill. You can pick one up at camping world. You can also go to a hardware store and buy a 3/4 inch socket and an adapter to use sockets with your drill. Here is the adapter(link)

Default Electric Tongue Jack Size

We made our first trip with our 2010 280RLS over the July 4th holidays, towing it up to Ruedi Reservoir near Aspen, CO and had a great first trip with the Northtrail. Since getting back I've been thinking about getting an electric tongue jack and came across this thread. It looks like several of you have installed a Barker 3500# unit and seem very happy with it.

Would the 3500# size be the right choice for my 280RLS and 3/4T Dodge diesel tow vehicle? It looks like there are a half dozen manufacturers out there--what led you all to Barker and this particular size? It also looks like it pays to really shop around as the prices are all over the map. I like the sounds of JChatt's successful $150 EBAY bid.

Thanks for any advice you can offer on the jack.

Also, I picked up a new dual battery box and two 6 volt golf cart batteries from Costco today to begin my battery conversion from the single 12V unit that came with the trailer.

Thanks,
Tom
